8 Tampa Bay developments to watch out for in 2023

It’s hard to ignore all the construction projects popping up around the city. Whether they’re long-anticipated renovations to historic buildings or brand new bus lines, 2023 is shaping up to be the “Year of the Build” and we’re sharing updates on some of the most impactful projects.

Tampa Convention Center

The Convention Center’s 18,000 sqft expansion includes 18 new waterfront meeting rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows. The addition is part of a $38 million capital improvement campaign + the rooms are expected to be finished in 2023.

400 Central

Projected to be the tallest skyscraper on the West Coast of Florida at 46 stories, 400 Central will have 301 condo units, 40,000 sqft of office space, and 25,000 sqft of retail space. Work on the foundation began in the fall of 2022, according to St. Pete Rising.

ONE Tampa

The planned 42-story downtown Tampa tower will honor the old Tarr Furniture Building and feature a restaurant and 311 residential units.

The luxury building will have 31 residences.

The Nolen

Last year, a caravan of folks moved a historic St. Pete craftsmen from its home on 4th Street to a new home in the Mirror Lake neighborhood. The move was to make way for The Nolen, a 23-story luxury residential building currently under construction.

Marina Pointe

The Westshore Marina District is experiencing an explosion of growth. Marina Pointe Tampa, a collection of apartment towers that sit right on the Bay, is currently under construction.

Ascent St. Petersburg

With a price tag of $117 million , this downtown St. Pete building will boast a hotel and 357 apartment units. The tower is nearing completion , according to St. Pete Rising.

Saltaire

Though currently under construction, all of the luxury condo tower’s 35 units are already under contract. The tower is located right on Beach Drive and features a rooftop pool and Bayfront views.

Altura Bayshore

You might’ve already noticed construction workers hustling to complete this new apartment tower. Once completed, the building will sit at 22-stories and have 73 residences.
