USF Bulls become bowl-eligible after victorious season finale

The Bulls are heading to a bowl game for the first time since 2018.

USF Bulls fans celebrate in the stands at Raymond James Stadium. They are dressed in green and gold and are making the Bulls hand signal.

Bulls fans had reason to celebrate on Senior Night.

It’s time to go bowling, TBAY. The Bulls’ 48-14 victory over Charlotte on Senior Night gave the University of South Florida team their sixth win of the 2023 campaign.

That means the Bulls are eligible for a bowl game, a feat that hasn’t happened in five years. Let’s have a look at the numbers that got them here:

🐂 First-year head coach Alex Golesh led the Bulls to a 6-6 record in the regular season. The previous head coach Jeff Scott managed four total wins across three seasons.
🐂 Redshirt freshman quarterback Byrum Brown threw for 3,078 yards in 2023, becoming the first USF Bull to pass for 3,000+ yards in a single season — and he’s only 19 years old.

🐂 Wide receiver Sean Atkins also had a record-breaking year, catching the most passes in a USF season (86) and getting the most yards (961).

Mark the calendar for this Sunday, Dec. 3. That’s when bowl games will be announced.
