Load the cannons: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2024 season is on the horizon

The Bucs have announced several special events for the upcoming campaign, including the return of their creamsicle jerseys.

A vintage-looking photo of Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield wearing an orange creamsicle football uniform. His retro glasses have orange lenses, and he's wearing an old-school headband. There is a boombox next to the bench he's sat on, he's looking at the camera with a serious expression, and the background is a plain red sheet.

There’s only 51 days until the Bucs’ 2024 NFL season begins, and the team is making preparations for special events on a handful of gamedays. Here’s what’s on the roster:

  • In Week 1, the regular season begins for Baker Mayfield and company with a celebration of local community at the “For Tampa Bay” event. During the game against the Washington Commanders, Ray Jay will be awash with celebrations of Tampa Bay’s culture + people.
  • During Week 8, the vintage vibes are back. The Bucs will sport their popular retro creamsicle jerseys when their NFC South rivals from Atlanta visit the Cigar City.
  • The annual “Salute to Service” game takes place in Week 10 when the Saints come to town.
  • For the first time ever, the team is hosting a “Red Out” event. In Week 14 against the Las Vegas Raiders, fans are encouraged to wear red and “create a formidable demonstration of our collective strength.”
