Sandbox VR opens in the Burg’s Grand Central District

The virtual reality hub will offer guests the opportunity to moonlight as a Squid Game contestant or rescue a small town from a deluge of zombies.

We’ve found the perfect completely air-conditioned activity for this summer’s sweltering heat: virtual adventures.

And there’s a new St. Pete spot to take on virtual reality quests — Sandbox VR is opening in the Burg’s Grand Central District on Thursday, June 27.

This is the first Florida location for the company, which operates 49 virtual reality destinations across the country. The Burg location will house three private rooms, or “holodecks,” for games.

Players can choose from eight immersive experiences (think “Star Trek” or Curse of Davy Jones) + will be outfitted with a haptic vest, motion sensors on their wrists and ankles, and cutting edge VIVE Focus 3 headsets — to bring the action to life and allow guests to interact with each other.

Right now, Sandbox is offering reduced weekday pricing of $40 per player and 25% off weekend bookings with the promo code OPEN25. Plus, book your experience by Wednesday, June 26 for a chance at winning free Sandbox VR for a year.
