Tick. Tock. The countdown begins for the heartbeat of downtown St. Pete.

The Sundial (153 2nd Ave. N.) is set to massively transform, turning its open-air sculpture-heavy courtyard into an inviting + socially focused bar and hangout area.

The revitalized 85,537-sqft shopping complex will feature cafe-style seating, long community tables, vibey string lights, and umbrellas to block out the sun’s harsh rays, much like Water Street Tampa’s Sparkman Wharf (615 Channelside Dr.).

Designers also managed to implement a handful of lush communal green grass patches.

The new design aims to create a “place that enhances the city socially, economically, and culturally. A space where celebrations are had, where business is done, and where friends run into each other,” head developer Andrew Wright told the Business Journal.

The mall is currently home to retail stores like Tommy Bahama, White House-Black Market, Chico’s, and of course, the AMC movie theater.

And as far as dining goes, you can get a porterhouse for two at Ruth’s Chris Steak House or order the succulent creamy oysters at Sea Salt.

AMC and Sea Salt make a cameo in the renderings, but other shops and eateries are generically labeled with placeholder names.

Construction is expected to begin this spring, according to the Business Journal.

Driver’s licenses and vehicle registration

New residents in need of a Florida driver’s license will need to provide proof of legal status, a Social Security document, and two documents confirming their residential address.

B. I was more worried about the line at the DMV
C. I didn’t sleep a wink the night before
D. I may or may not have had to take the test multiple times
BE HONEST 🚗
THE WRAP

Today’s issue was written by Brad.

Editor’s pick: I’m so excited to finally check out Tim Gibbons’Big Foot Meets Star Wars” art exhibit on Monday at Pinellas Ale Works (1962 1st Ave. S., St. Petersburg). I find his art so creative. Think C-3PO and R2D2 running into the elusive BigFoot and then deciding to go surfing together. The concept is so bizarre, but it tickles that nerd nerve.
