A new homebase for Feeding Tampa Bay

Feeding Tampa Bay's New plans
A rendering of Feeding Tampa Bay’s planned headquarters on Causeway in Tampa. The facility will include warehouses for food distribution, a health clinic, a grocery store, and a job training center. | Rendering by Feeding Tampa Bay
Feeding Tampa Bay has been around since 1981, but it wasn’t until three years ago that the nonprofit vowed to end hunger + food insecurity in the region altogether.

Through the pandemic, the nonprofit managed to supply free healthy groceries for people with medical issues, build more food pantries in the community’s neediest schools, and provide financial resources to those in need.

And now they’re looking to expand their space to help meet those goals.

New plans for an enormous warehouse would enable the group to extend its reach of help to more people who can’t afford to eat. The facility would help FTB to increase its capacity for nonperishables and fresh foods.

Plans for the new warehouse include the following:
  • A job training center
  • A health clinic
  • A grocery store
  • Offices
  • A center for assistance with housing and benefits.
THE WRAP

Today’s issue was written by Brad.

Editor’s pick: Here’s a fun fact about me — I am a total clutz. I broke my wrist, nose, and skull earlier this year by riding an electric longboard through the streets of St. Pete. So, despite the vote, I don’t think I’ll hop on a skateboard for a while. 🛹
