A change is gonna come — and soon. A 5.5 acre block in Tampa’s Beach Park sold for $16 million. The site’s office buildings will be demolished and replaced with an upscale community of 87 new townhomes. 🏠 (Tampa Bay Business Journal)
It’s time to say goodbye to Captain Clutch’s former Davis Islands home. Records show a permit was filed to tear down the $22 million compound — which still holds records as Tampa’s most expensive private home sale. Derek Jeter’s former waterside estate includes 8 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, and an 80-foot saltwater lap pool. (News Channel 8)
Sports
It was more than just a game. The Tampa Bay Rays made history last week with the first all Latino starting lineup + on the same day the team celebrated Puerto Rican baseball legend Roberto Clemente. They finished off the party with a win over the Blue Jays. ⚾ (CBS News)
Arts
The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art in St. Petersburg recently unveiled a new exhibit exploring the timeline of Black history in the west. Stories of Black pioneers from 1528 to the civil rights movement are illustrated through 50 vibrant pictorial quilts. The exhibit is on display now-Jan. 8. 🖼️ (WUSF News)

Attention all boos and ghouls. Horror attraction Undead in the Waterreturns Fri., Sept. 23 for 13 nights. Guests will board the 60,000 sq ft. Homebodies rejoice. Two new spots to sift for all the home finds are coming to Water Street Tampa this October.
Locally-owned Dwell Home Market will take over the bottom floor of Asher Residences. The 2,988 sqft pop-up showroom will be stocked with a bar, tons of unique furniture finds, and custom artwork. Interior designers will also be on-site for all the tips.
Botique plant mecca Yura Vine Brothers is also making a move from Hyde Park into the ground floor of Cora apartments. The specialty shop will stock hundreds of plants (including rare breeds), handmade pots, and more. Owners, Samuel and Aaron Roda, also offer plant design help at the shopso you can make your yard — or container garden — cohesive.
