The City of Tampa is getting ready for a whole heap of downtown visitors tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 9. Here’s what we know + how to navigate the crowds:

What’s happening?

Downtown is awash with events tomorrow, including two shows by comedian Nate Bargatze at Amalie Arena, the Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, seven events at Armature Works, and several goings on at the Tampa Convention Center, including all-star cheerleading.love!!

Because of this, 30,000+ people are expected to come in and out of the area.

How to get around the issue

Road closures, mostly along the river, are also in effect at the moment, meaning traffic + parking could be an issue. You could always use an alternative mode of transport:

  • The free-to-ride TECO Streetcar runs between Ybor City and downtown.
  • Ride-share services stop the parking-spot hunt, like Uber, Lyft, or DASH.
  • The Pirate Water Taxi has stops along the Hillsborough River, and also has one on each of Davis + Harbour Islands.
