Take a bite out of Taco Tuesday in Tampa Bay

We’re bringing you flavor, drink deals, and everything you need to make Tuesdays wonderful.

Pair those zesty tacos with a marg or two at Red Mesa.

Every time Tuesday rolls around we’ve got one thing on the brain: tacos. Lucky for us, there’s dozens of spots to get your fix in the Tampa Bay area.

We’re digging into a few of our fave local options:

Taco Dirty, 2221 W. Platt St., Tampa

For the health-conscious among us, Taco Dirty packs in protein and flavor with options like grilled corn tortillas or lettuce wraps, grilled lime and sour orange chicken, and its Buffalo Avo Broccoli. Stop by for “Dirty Hour” — every day, not just Tuesday — from 2 to 6 p.m. for $8 tres taco plates, $3 canned beers and seltzers, and $6 margs.

Red Mesa Cantina + Red Mesa Mercado, multiple locations

The pair of popular restaurants from the same owners brings standout Mexican cuisine to the Burg. You can chow down on faves like shrimp tacos, puffy tacos, and key lime empanadas. And we know it’s not Tuesday, but both spots celebrate Margarita Monday with half off house-made pitchers.

Tacos el Primo, multiple locations

You might just miss this taco-haven tucked away in the Rainbow Food Mart or Henderson Bull Mart. Good thing you have us to inform you about Tacos el Primo’s mix and match birria taco special, three taco special, and fried fish taco. Make sure to stock up on Mexican Coca-Cola and Jarritos too.

Taquitos Mexican Restaurant, 9617 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg

Looking for top-notch Mexican eats in a laid back environment? Look no further. This Bay Pines eatery’s menu is packed with tinga, carne asada, al pastor tacos, and tons of other homemade delights. We recommend the quesa birria tacos.

Green Lemon, 915 S. Howard Ave., Tampa

Turn taco night into a night out at the hopping Hyde Park restaurant. The Taco Tuesday options are endless, but highlights include the Street Trio — which lets you pick any three tacos and a side — or the Shia Labeef taco packed with (you guessed it) spicy shredded beef and queso fresca. Stop by every day from 3 to 7 p.m. for Fiesta Hour deals like three tacos for $10 or red sangria for $5.

Grumpy Gringo, 2510 22nd Ave. N., St Petersburg

This beloved taco joint is the place to be on Tuesdays with $2 tacos, $5 classic burritos (chicken or pork), and $5 margaritas. If you’re not in the mood for tacos, the Mexican restaurant also serves up tamales, cochinita pibil, and delicious horchata.

Taco Bus, multiple locations

The “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” featured spot serves up some piping hot deals from its signature yellow school buses. Stop by on Tuesdays for two tacos for $5. We suggest trying out the tostada too.
