Tampa Bay is rapidly changing — with new towers, eateries, and places for the community to connect — announced seemingly every week.
Luckily for you, we’re here to chronicle its evolution. Here’s the latest updates to coming to TBAY:
Water Street Tampa
What’s next for one of the Big Guava’s newest neighborhoods? Late last week, Strategic Property Partners just filed plans to build a mixed-use tower at the northwest corner of Water Street and East Cumberland Avenue.
The 124-ft-tall building will boast 38,000 sqft of retail space, 675 parking spaces, and a rooftop area. Plus, the facade will be festooned with a green, yellow, and orange ombre design — all the better for remembering where you parked.
The group’s plans also include a one-acre park to host as a venue for open-air markets, outdoor concerts, and other activities. The tower should be finished by late 2027.
Williams Park
The St. Petersburg Downtown Improvement District is on the way. One major element: Revamping Williams Park.
The Williams Park Partnership recently scored $800,000 in state funding to add lightning, a retaining wall, and fix sidewalks at the park. Plus, the Burg is supposed to spend $1.2 million on repairing the 1950s-era bandshell — a project that should start later this year.
Leaders want the “park to become a “front lawn” for all residents, regardless of their housing situation” with workout classes, cultural, and food-centric events, according to St. Pete Catalyst.
