Whether you’re in the mood for a bite, drink, sweat session, or retail therapy, a trip to Water Street Tampa is always a hit. Just ask Time Magazine.
And there’s more where that came from. Strategic Property Partners has even more plans in the works as the neighborhood gears up for its next phase of development.
We rounded up the info:
We’re going up
Two towers are currently under construction north of the 900 and 1000 blocks of East Cumberland Avenue. One will create more residential offerings for locals in the form of condos, and the other will serve as office space.
The residential complex is set to be Water Street Tampa’s tallest building yet. The tower is being designed by Gensler, a global architect + design company headquartered in San Francisco. Owners also hope to bring in a fitness-focused club of some sort, which is currently under consideration.
Plans for the trophy office complex include ground floor retail and green space, and will focus on a pedestrian-friendly experience. New York-based Kohn Pedersen Fox completed a preliminary design concept for the building, creating the potential for yet more world-class infrastructure in the area.
As of right now, neither building has a projected completion date. The surrounding road + utility construction is set to be done next spring, at which point the towers will start their ascent.
The next phase also includes early plans for a new hotel + entertainment venue capable of hosting live performances. We’ll report back on updates. There will also be more green space introduced into the already walkable area, which will facilitate open-air markets, outdoor concerts, and other activities.
